Grade Eight Graduation Encore
January 26, 2010 When I saw my friend Les' comment in response to my last post about looking good in his suit (we graduated from grade eight together), I thought I'd try to dig up a few more photos.
This is our graduating class photo. Yes, Les did look quite swank in his suit, so much so that I had to take a moment to myself to close my eyes and fully absorb his radiating classiness.

I am not sure if Les remembers this, but you may notice the awkward slogan on our graduation banner: Leaving. . . with memories. Our teachers held a brainstorming session prior to our grad and we, the students, collectively voted on the oh-so-inspiring slogan of "Leaving". Our teachers refused it due to the aura of negativity it spoke, so they shined the turd by adding ". . . with memories".
The following photo is of our after grad celebration, which was held at a nearby lake where we swam and had a barbecue. Les is on the left, and there I am in the center, once again, full of angst. I refused to swim at this party as that would have meant peeling the dyke-liscious, men's dress shirt off of my awkward, thirteen year old body.

Oh grade 8 grad.....how fun that was!! LMFAO
Oh good lord. "Leaving...with Memories" I had completely forgotten that theme! We did just radiate positivity then didn't we? - teenage angst made you cool! I think you are wrong about the theme song though, wasn't it Madonna's "I'll Remember" because it tied in with the whole memories thing?
On a side note, notice MY lovely farmer tan that my Mom thought wearing that AWESOME!!! armband would make less noticeable?
I know, Reagan. Awesome, hey? Haha. :)
Melissa, you're so right about the song! Yeah, the farmer tans were unbeatable. My mother was so thrilled that she got me to wear a skirt.
I thought about posting that on facebook and tagging everyone in it, but I figured that would make me one of those assholes.
LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hahahahahaha. Oh so glad we never had a grade 8 graduation. We got Kindergarten graduation, and then Grade 12, and I could have done without the latter, to be quite honest.
And I still can't believe that fucking blue sunflower dress. Of all the things from peoples' childhoods I have seen, that is definitely one of the worst.
