It's not a very long book, and it's a pretty good read. It will get you thinking the right way about making money, and owning the ladder, instead of climbing someone else s ladder.
I grew up with not the best career guidance from my parents, and I worked as an 'underwater ceramics technician' (dishwasher) for years before I got into game development. I too had a career counselor who was utterly fucken useless... So I can relate.
I know you don't wanna hear it, but ALBERTA BLOWS GERIATRIC NUTSAC for professional jobs. But it's pretty!
Thanks for the suggestion! Will definitely check it out. Heard of it, but never read it myself.
And I hear what your saying. Over the last few years I abandoned the traditional ladder after getting fed up with failure after failure and redirected my focus into learning how I could transform my true passions into a self driven career. But a few months ago I kind of.... well, gave up, I suppose, after seeing a lack of progress, and I've resorted back to the traditional sphere. Maybe I gave up too soon.
